A certified inspector uses moisture meters and thermal cameras to find the hidden moisture source, which is the only way to prevent rapid regrowth. They can also take air and surface samples for lab analysis to identify the mold species, which is critical for assessing health risks and planning the correct remediation method, particularly with children present. In many cases, the wall section needs to be carefully opened and replaced to fully resolve the problem.
