Can I remove this recurring wall mold myself in Dubai?« Back to Previous Page

The AC in our bedroom has been leaking a bit and now there's a black, speckled patch of mold spreading on the wall behind the wardrobe. I tried wiping it with a vinegar solution but it came back in a few days. Is this something I can tackle myself with a stronger cleaner, or do I need to call a professional mold removal company here in Dubai?

Based on the symptoms you've described—recurring black, speckled mold growth following an AC leak—this is not a situation I would recommend for DIY remediation. The recurrence after your initial cleaning attempt is a significant red flag.

The issue is almost certainly systemic. The visible mold on the wall is merely the fruiting body; the actual fungal network (hyphae) has likely penetrated deep into the porous wall material, such as drywall or plaster, which vinegar or surface cleaners cannot reach. Furthermore, the root cause is the persistent moisture from the AC leak. Until the leak is professionally repaired and the accumulated moisture within the wall cavity is fully addressed, the mold will continue to return.

In Dubai's climate, with its extreme humidity and our reliance on year-round air conditioning, these conditions are a perfect breeding ground for mold. The constant condensation and water intrusion create a chronic moisture problem that fuels rapid microbial growth.

For a proper resolution, a professional inspection is mandatory. Our certified inspectors use tools like moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras to identify the full extent of the water damage and hidden mold growth behind the wardrobe and within the wall. The remediation process then involves containing the area, safely removing and disposing of contaminated porous materials, and using industrial-grade HEPA filtration and antimicrobial agents to ensure complete eradication.

Attempting a stronger cleaner yourself risks aerosolizing the spores, spreading the contamination to other areas of your home, and potentially exposing yourself to harmful mycotoxins. For a definitive solution to both the moisture source and the biological growth, I strongly advise contacting our team at Saniservice for a comprehensive assessment.
