Can you recommend a mold inspection company in Dubai?« Back to Previous Page

We've lived here in Jumeirah for 2 years and just noticed a patch of black mold in the corner of our master bedroom closet where we store our winter clothes. It must have been growing since the humidity spike a few weeks ago. I’m really worried it’s spread to other things in there. Can anyone recommend a reliable and thorough mold inspection company that can also test the air quality to see how bad it really is?

Look for a certified mold inspector, not just a cleaning company. In Dubai's high humidity, that patch likely indicates a deeper moisture issue, possibly from a small leak in the AC condensation line running through the wall or condensation buildup itself.

A thorough inspection for your situation should include surface sampling of the visible growth to identify the species and air quality testing in the closet, bedroom, and a control area (like your living room) to compare spore counts. This will definitively show if it has become airborne and spread. Given the location and your stored fabrics, which can hold spores, this is a prudent step.

Any reputable inspector should provide a detailed report with the lab results (they often partner with accredited microbiology labs) and a clear remediation protocol if needed. They should explain the moisture source, not just the mold. Be wary of any company that offers to do both testing and remediation without a clear separation; the assessment should be independent to avoid a conflict of interest. You can verify their credentials by asking for certifications from organizations like the IICRC. The final report is your evidence of the property's condition.
