How much does closet mold removal cost in Dubai?« Back to Previous Page

Our master bedroom closet in our Jumeirah villa has had black spots growing on the back wall for a couple of months, and it’s starting to spread to some of our clothes. We only really noticed it after the humidity picked up, and now the whole room smells damp no matter how much I air it out. I'm worried it's a bigger issue behind the wall, but I have no idea what a fair price is for a proper fix. For a walk-in closet area, should I expect to pay a few hundred dirhams or is this a more serious job that will cost thousands?

Cost depends entirely on whether the mold is just on the surface or if there's a hidden moisture source behind the wall. Given your description of a persistent damp smell and growth recurring despite airing out, a hidden leak or condensation issue within the wall is likely. This moves the job from a simple surface clean to a remediation project.

For a serious case like this, pricing is not based on room type but on the scope of work. Expect to pay more for a proper fix that includes identifying and stopping the moisture source, removing contaminated materials like drywall, and performing antimicrobial treatment. In Dubai's climate, high humidity and year-round AC use can cause condensation inside walls if insulation or vapour barriers are inadequate, a common issue in villas.

Always get an on-site inspection from a certified mold assessor first. They should use a borescope to look inside the wall cavity and a moisture meter to find the source. Reputable companies provide a detailed protocol and fixed-price quote for the remediation work, not an hourly rate. Avoid any company that gives a quote without a thorough investigation. The final cost is justified by the documentation provided, including before-and-after lab air samples to verify the space is safe.
