Is black mold making my kids sick in Dubai?« Back to Previous Page

My kids have been coughing and I suspect it’s from the long, black mold I just found growing along the bottom of the wall behind our wardrobe in the master bedroom. It's been so humid lately that our windows are always fogged up in the morning. What's the fastest way to get this professionally treated in Dubai, and is it safe for us to stay in the room until it's fixed?

Based on your description, the situation you're describing is a serious health concern that requires immediate professional attention. The presence of long, black mold growth, coupled with high indoor humidity and your children's respiratory symptoms, are all classic red flags.

In the UAE's climate, especially during humid periods, AC systems can create condensation that leads to persistent dampness behind furniture and on cold walls, which is a perfect breeding ground for toxigenic molds like Stachybotrys chartarum (often referred to as "black mold"). This type of mold is known to produce mycotoxins that can cause persistent coughing, wheezing, and other allergic or respiratory issues, particularly in children whose immune systems are still developing.

It is NOT safe to stay in the room. I strongly recommend you relocate your family from the affected bedroom immediately and restrict access until a certified professional can assess and remediate the problem. Do not attempt to disturb or clean it yourself, as this can aerosolize the spores and mycotoxins, significantly increasing airborne contamination and exacerbating health risks.

The fastest way to get this professionally treated is to contact a DMCA-certified and Dubai Municipality-approved remediation company. They will follow a strict protocol: first, a comprehensive inspection and air quality testing to identify the spore types and concentration; second, setting up containment with negative air pressure to prevent cross-contamination; and finally, the safe removal and hygienization of the affected materials.

For immediate assistance, please call our hotline at 800-MOLDS (800-66537) or email hello@saniservice.com to schedule an emergency inspection. Our teams are equipped to respond quickly to such health-critical cases across Dubai and the UAE.
