Is this mold in my Al Barsha villa bedroom?« Back to Previous Page

We've lived in our villa in Al Barsha for two years and just noticed a bunch of black spots spreading along the corner where the wall meets the ceiling in our master bedroom. It's been really humid lately and the room has felt damp. Is this definitely mold, and can anyone recommend a reliable company that does a proper inspection and testing, not just a quick cleanup?

Based on your description of black spots spreading at the wall-ceiling junction in a humid room, it is highly likely to be mold. This is a common issue in Dubai villas, particularly during humid periods, and is often caused by condensation forming on cooler surfaces like concrete slabs.

You should arrange a professional inspection. A proper assessment involves more than a visual check; it includes measuring moisture levels deep within the wall and identifying the specific mold species through air and surface sampling sent to a microbiology lab. This step is critical, as it determines the root cause—like a hidden leak or insufficient insulation—and the appropriate remediation plan.

For a reliable company, look for providers that are DHA-approved and can present documented evidence of their process, including before-and-after lab results. They should explain their methodology clearly and focus on solving the moisture source, not just wiping away the visible growth.
