Need mold inspection with thermal camera safe for kids?« Back to Previous Page

My kids have been coughing a lot more than usual for the past couple of weeks, and I'm starting to worry. I just pulled out a bunch of their winter clothes from the storage cupboard under our stairs in Jumeirah and found a few jackets with visible black spots and a really strong, damp smell. I'm panicking that the whole space might be contaminated. Can anyone recommend a thorough mold inspection company that uses those thermal cameras to check inside the walls, and are they safe to have around children?

Thermal imaging is completely safe for children as it uses only infrared light to detect temperature differences behind walls, identifying potential moisture without any radiation or invasive procedures. This non-destructive method is a standard first step in a proper inspection.

In a high-humidity climate like Dubai, enclosed storage areas, especially those against external walls or under stairs with less AC circulation, are common sites for condensation and hidden mold growth. The damp smell and visible spots on clothes strongly suggest an active problem that has likely spread.

For a thorough assessment, you need more than just a thermal camera. A proper inspection should combine thermal imaging to find hidden moisture with a borescope to visually confirm mold inside cavities, and most critically, air and surface sampling sent to an accredited microbiology lab. The lab analysis identifies the exact species and concentration, which is vital for understanding potential health impacts and planning safe remediation.

Look for a provider whose process is driven by this scientific diagnostics, not just visible cleaning. They should be able to explain their entire testing methodology and provide a detailed report with lab results. Reputable companies are accustomed to working in occupied homes and will discuss any specific safety protocols you require regarding containment or scheduling while your family is present.
