Need professional mold removal for villa in Jumeirah and cost?« Back to Previous Page

We've lived here for 2 years and just noticed a large patch of black mold in the back of our walk-in wardrobe, probably from the humidity. I tried wiping it with vinegar but it came back worse a week later. I'm in a villa in Jumeirah and worried it's spreading behind the walls. Is this a job for a professional mold removal company, and roughly how much should I expect to pay for an inspection and treatment for a room this size?

Given the humidity in Jumeirah and the mold's quick return, this is definitely a job for a professional. Vinegar or bleach only removes surface discoloration and can actually feed the root structure (mycelium) embedded in porous materials like drywall. The recurrence suggests a deeper moisture issue, likely from condensation or a small leak, that must be identified and resolved first.

For a villa walk-in wardrobe, expect a thorough inspection to involve a moisture meter to check the walls and a borescope to look inside cavities if needed. In Dubai’s climate, the source is often a compromised vapor barrier or condensation from an AC duct running through the space. The remediation itself would include isolating the area, removing affected porous materials, HEPA vacuuming, and antimicrobial treatment.

Due to strict DHA and DM guidelines for proper containment and disposal, costs are structured by the scope of contamination, not just room size. A small, contained area like a single wardrobe is a different project category than a whole room. You will need to request an onsite assessment for an accurate scope and quote. Reputable companies provide detailed proposals that break down inspection, containment, removal, and verification testing costs separately. Always ensure the final price includes post-remediation testing to verify the space is truly clean.
