Should I get an inspector for black mold immediately?« Back to Previous Page

Our villa in Mirdif has felt really humid since the heavy rains a few weeks ago. I just pulled out the guest room wardrobe and found a patch of black and green speckles on the back wall behind it. My wife says it’s nothing, but I’m worried it might be spreading. Is this something I need to get an inspector for immediately, or can it wait a few weeks?

Based on your description, this is a situation that warrants a professional mold inspection without delay. The combination of recent heavy rains, a persistently humid feeling in the villa, and the visual confirmation of microbial growth—especially behind furniture where air circulation is poor—are significant red flags. In Dubai's climate, where high humidity and year-round air conditioning can create constant condensation issues, a small patch can indicate a larger, hidden problem within the wall cavity or HVAC system.

The black and green speckles suggest a potential mix of mold species, some of which can be problematic. Disturbing it by moving the wardrobe may have already released spores into the air, risking further spread and potential health effects, particularly for those with respiratory sensitivities. A DIY approach is strongly discouraged, as improper handling can exacerbate the contamination.

Our inspection process involves a comprehensive assessment, including moisture mapping with thermal imaging and hygrometers to identify the water source, air and surface sampling to identify the species and concentration levels, and a detailed report with remediation protocols. This is crucial for resolving the issue effectively and safely, in line with local environmental health and safety guidelines.

For a villa in Mirdif, I recommend you schedule a professional inspection immediately to assess the extent of the contamination and prevent further damage. Please contact our certified team at Saniservice for a consultation. Call 800-MOLDS (800-66537) or email hello@saniservice.com.
