Urgent: AC making loud rattling noise, should I call technician?« Back to Previous Page

The AC in my master bedroom has started making a loud rattling noise whenever the compressor kicks on, but it's still blowing cold air. It started a couple of days ago and seems to be getting slightly worse. With the weather heating up again, I'm worried it's a sign of something about to break completely. How urgent is this, and should I call a technician now or can it wait until the weekend?

Based on your description, this is a situation that warrants immediate attention, not a weekend wait. A loud rattling noise specifically at compressor startup is a significant mechanical symptom. While it's still blowing cold air now, that's likely to change abruptly.

The rattling is typically caused by one of two serious issues: failing compressor internal components (like bearings or pistons) or a severely loose/misaligned outdoor fan motor. The UAE's intense heat and extended AC runtime place enormous strain on these components. The fact the noise is worsening indicates progressive failure. A complete compressor seizure is a real possibility, which would result in a total system shutdown and a very costly repair, often requiring a full unit replacement under Dubai's stringent refrigerant regulations (F-Gas compliance).

Continuing to run it risks catastrophic damage. My professional advice is to shut the system off now to prevent further harm and call a certified technician for an emergency inspection. This is not a DIY fix.

For a proper diagnosis, please call our team at 800-MOLDS or 800-66537. We can dispatch a certified engineer to assess the compressor and fan assembly and provide you with a clear repair plan before the summer heat makes it an even more urgent situation.
