A proper remediation company will not just clean the visible mold; they will use moisture meters and thermal cameras to locate the root cause.

For a toddler's room, do not attempt a DIY fix with bleach. Disturbing it can aerosolize spores. A professional inspection and air quality test can identify the species to assess risk accurately. While you wait for the landlord's response, improve ventilation in the room by running an exhaust fan if available and keeping the door open.
