We've lived here for 2 years and just noticed these black spots appearing in the grout between the tiles in our master bathroom shower. It's in a corner that doesn't get much sun and always feels a bit damp. I'm worried it's mold, especially with my allergies acting up lately. The most effective solution for shower grout mold is a hydrogen peroxide-based cleaner (around 3-6% concentration) or a dedicated tile and grout mold remover, both available at ACE Hardware. For a natural option, undiluted white vinegar in a spray bottle also works well on non-porous surfaces.

In Dubai's humidity, simply killing surface mold isn't enough; you must address the moisture. After cleaning, improve ventilation by running the bathroom exhaust fan for at least 30 minutes after every shower and wiping down wet surfaces. A squeegee on the walls after use makes a significant difference.
