Where to find certified mold inspector in Jumeirah Village Circle?« Back to Previous Page

The AC in our apartment in Jumeirah Village Circle has been making us all stuffy and my toddler has been coughing more than usual. I finally pulled the couch away from the wall yesterday and found a patch of black mold hidden behind it, right where the external wall is. It must have been growing slowly since the humidity spiked a couple of months ago. What’s the best way to find a certified mold inspector here who can also check our AC units for contamination?

Look for a Dubai Municipality-approved environmental consultant or a company with certified indoor air quality professionals (CIECs or CMRs). These certifications are your best indicator of training in proper inspection protocols, which is crucial for accurate identification and remediation planning.

Given the hidden mold and your toddler's symptoms, a professional inspection is strongly advised. The inspector should conduct a thorough visual assessment and take air and surface samples for lab analysis. This is essential to identify the specific mold type and its concentration, as not all black molds are equally problematic. They should also inspect your AC unit and ductwork, as these are common sources of indoor contamination in Dubai's climate, where systems run year-round and internal condensation can foster growth.

When contacting companies, ask directly about their certifications and if their final report includes lab results from an accredited microbiology laboratory. A credible inspector will provide a detailed report that identifies the species present and offers clear, actionable remediation guidance, not just a simple yes/no. Avoid companies that immediately push for expensive remediation without providing this diagnostic evidence first. For a case involving a child's health, this due diligence is the most important step.
