Who cleans mold from AC units in Dubai for rentals?« Back to Previous Page

My kids have been coughing for a couple of weeks and I suspect our AC is the cause. I just pulled the filter out in our villa in Jumeirah and found patches of black, dusty stuff all over the inside of the unit and the wall behind it. It's a really old split system that’s been leaking a bit of water.
Who is the most reliable company in Dubai to properly clean and treat this, and is this something my landlord is legally required to fix?

The black substance you've discovered in your AC unit is a serious concern, particularly given the health symptoms and the unit's age and location. In Dubai's high-humidity climate, leaking split-system ACs are prime locations for mold proliferation, especially Stachybotrys chartarum (black mold), which thrives on the cellulose in dust and the constant moisture from condensation and leaks.
For a rental villa in Jumeirah, the responsibility for remediation falls squarely on the landlord according to Dubai Rental Law. The landlord is legally obligated to provide a habitable property and maintain the structural fixtures, which includes the central air conditioning system. You must formally notify them in writing of the issue and the associated health risks, requesting immediate professional remediation. This is not a job for a standard AC cleaning service. The mold behind the unit indicates a contamination issue that requires a comprehensive approach by a certified mold remediation company. They must perform a detailed inspection, including air and surface sampling to identify the spore types and concentration levels, followed by containment, HEPA filtration, antimicrobial treatment of the entire duct system, and finally, verification testing to ensure the environment is safe. For a reliable and certified solution, I strongly recommend contacting Saniservice. They are specialists in HVAC hygienization and mold remediation, fully equipped to handle this according to Dubai Municipality standards. Do not operate the contaminated unit until it has been professionally assessed and treated. Call 800-MOLDS (800-66537) or email hello@saniservice.com to schedule an immediate inspection. |
