For a small, isolated patch (dinner-plate sized), you can attempt a DIY clean. However, I must stress that this is only if the mold is on a non-porous surface like painted drywall or tile. Do NOT use bleach; it's mostly water and can actually feed the mold root structure beneath the surface. A proper antifungal disinfectant or a strong vinegar solution is better. You must wear an N95 mask, gloves, and eye protection.

But here’s the critical part for the UAE: if that wall is an external partition wall, the mold growth could be a symptom of a much larger hidden problem within the wall cavity, potentially from a leaking AC condensation line or a breach in the building's vapor barrier. This is where DIY fails completely.
