How to get mold inspection in Springs, Dubai?« Back to Previous Page

We've lived here for 2 years in a villa in Springs and just noticed a bunch of black speckles spreading in the corner of our master bedroom closet, behind the clothes. It's been super humid the last few weeks and I'm worried it's getting worse. What's the best way to get a proper mold inspection done here, and should I be calling a specialist or is this something the maintenance company for our community handles first?

Good question. The Springs community, with its lush landscaping and villa design, is unfortunately prone to humidity-related issues, especially in closets and behind furniture where air circulation is poor. Those black speckles you're describing are a classic sign of a mold colony, likely exacerbated by the recent high humidity.

For a proper inspection, you absolutely need a certified specialist, not just the community maintenance. While the maintenance company handles general building upkeep, a professional mold inspection is a highly technical process. It involves a visual assessment, moisture mapping with tools like thermal imaging cameras and hygrometers to find the source of the moisture (which is the real problem), and most importantly, air and surface sampling. This lab analysis is crucial to identify the exact species of mold and its concentration, which dictates the correct remediation protocol. This level of detail is beyond the scope of a typical maintenance team.

In the UAE, we follow strict guidelines based on international standards (like IICRC S520) for inspection and remediation to ensure the problem is solved correctly and your indoor air quality is restored. DIY attempts or an incomplete cleanup can just aerosolize the spores and spread the problem.

My strong recommendation is to call a professional environmental services company immediately to get a comprehensive assessment before it spreads further. For a certified inspection and a detailed report, you can call our specialists at 800-MOLDS (800-66537) or email hello@saniservice.com.
