How much to professionally treat mold in a Dubai villa?« Back to Previous Page

We’ve lived in our villa in Jumeirah for 2 years and just noticed these black speckles spreading along the corner of our master bedroom wall. It’s right where the wall meets the ceiling and it's been getting worse since the humidity kicked in last month. My husband thinks we can just scrub it with bleach ourselves, but I’m worried it’s more serious. For a job like this in a villa, are we looking at a few hundred dirhams or way more to get it professionally treated?

The cost to professionally treat mold in a Dubai villa can vary significantly based on the extent of the contamination. For a localized issue like the one you've described in a bedroom corner, pricing typically starts from AED 1,500 to AED 3,000. However, this is a preliminary estimate, as the visible speckles are often just the tip of the iceberg.

In the UAE's high-humidity climate, mold growth within wall cavities is extremely common due to condensation from year-round AC use. A professional inspection is critical to determine the source of moisture—whether it's a minor condensation issue or a more serious leak from the roof or AC system. We adhere to strict Dubai Municipality guidelines for assessment and remediation, which often involves advanced techniques like borescope inspections to see inside walls and precise moisture mapping.

Attempting a DIY bleach scrub is strongly discouraged. Bleach only removes surface discoloration and does not address the root moisture problem or the hyphal roots of the mold. More importantly, improper scrubbing can aerosolize harmful spores, spreading the contamination to other areas of your villa and posing a significant health risk.

For an accurate assessment and a fixed-price quotation, I recommend a professional inspection. Our certified team at Saniservice can identify the full scope of the issue and provide a permanent, guaranteed solution.
