Black mold removal cost in Dubai: DIY or professional?« Back to Previous Page

The AC in my bedroom has been leaking a bit onto the wall for maybe a couple of months, and now there's a large black splotch spreading behind the wardrobe. I've been feeling more congested than usual and I'm worried it's the mold. What's the ballpark cost for professional black mold removal in a Dubai villa, and is this a DIY job or should I definitely call someone?

That black splotch and your congestion are strong signs you need to act. In Dubai's climate, an AC leak creates a constant source of humidity, which is an ideal environment for mold growth behind furniture.

This is not a typical DIY job. Disturbing a large growth without proper containment can release a massive amount of spores into your bedroom, potentially worsening your symptoms and contaminating other areas. Professional remediation is strongly advised to safely remove the mold, fix the moisture source (the leaking AC), and treat the affected materials.

Cost is variable, as it depends entirely on the extent of the spread behind the wardrobe and the wall material. Remediation is priced on the scope of work: containment setup, removal of contaminated drywall or furniture, HEPA vacuuming, antimicrobial treatment, and most critically, addressing the root cause—the AC leak. You should get an on-site inspection for an accurate assessment.

For verification, any reputable company will provide a detailed scope of work and can show you their DHA (Dubai Health Authority) registration or other relevant environmental certifications. This ensures they follow proper protocols for disposal and occupant safety.
