Who to call for mold in Dubai: specialist or management?« Back to Previous Page

We've lived here for 2 years and just noticed a cluster of black spots in the corner of our master bedroom closet. It's on the wall that faces the outside, and with all the recent humidity, it seems to have exploded in size. What's the best way to handle this in Dubai – should I call the building management first, or get a specialist to look at it?

Start with building management, as it's their responsibility to address structural issues like leaks in external walls or faulty insulation that are likely causing this moisture. Show them the mold and request immediate repair of the water source.

In parallel, engage a specialist for an independent assessment. The humid Dubai climate and year-round AC use create ideal conditions for mold, and what's visible is often just the surface of the problem. A professional inspection can determine the extent of growth inside the wall cavity and identify the specific mold type, which is critical for planning safe remediation.

Management handles the building defect, but a specialist ensures the mold itself is properly removed and the air quality is verified as safe. For a case like this, where growth is significant and on an external wall, a combined approach is the most effective strategy to resolve the root cause and the health concern.
