Urgent: mold behind wardrobe, kids coughing for weeks?« Back to Previous Page

My kids have been coughing non-stop for the past two weeks, and I just found a patch of black spots behind the wardrobe in our master bedroom. We live in a villa in Springs and it’s been so humid lately. How urgently do we need to get a professional mold inspection, or can this wait until the weekend?

The coughing and visible mold indicate this needs prompt professional attention. In Dubai's high humidity, especially in villa communities like The Springs, mold can spread rapidly through airborne spores and within AC ducts. The persistent respiratory symptoms in children suggest potential exposure, making inspection a priority.

Schedule an inspection within the next few days. Before the inspector arrives, avoid disturbing the patch and limit your children's time in the bedroom. Keep the AC running to help control humidity, but be aware the system itself could be circulating spores.

A proper inspection involves more than just looking at the visible spot. It includes moisture mapping to find the water source (often condensation from AC ducts or a hidden leak), air sampling to check spore counts throughout the house, and often a swab sample for lab identification. This determines the mold type and the appropriate remediation strategy, which is critical for resolving a health issue. The process is the only way to verify the full extent of the problem and ensure it is properly addressed.
