Need mold inspection for hidden mold on bedroom wall?« Back to Previous Page

We've lived here for 2 years and just noticed a patch of black mold in the corner of our master bedroom closet, which is on an outside wall. It wasn't there during my last deep clean a few months ago, but with all the humidity lately, it's really spread. I'm worried it's behind the built-in shelves now. Can anyone recommend a reliable and thorough mold inspection company that can check for hidden mold and give us a proper remediation plan?

That pattern of growth on an outside wall, especially after recent humidity, strongly suggests a condensation issue. In Dubai's climate, the temperature difference between the air-conditioned interior and the hot exterior wall creates a perfect environment for mold when moisture condenses. It is very likely that the mold has spread behind the shelving.

You need a professional inspection that includes a moisture survey. A reputable inspector will use a thermal imaging camera to identify cold spots (potential condensation points) and a moisture meter to quantify the dampness within the wall. This is critical to find the full extent of the problem without unnecessary demolition. For hidden mold, surface swabs aren't enough; proper air quality testing that compares spore counts inside the closet to the outdoor air is necessary to assess what's behind the walls.

Look for a provider that offers a comprehensive assessment and a clear remediation plan, not just a cleaning service. They should be able to explain the root cause—whether it's insufficient insulation, a small leak, or simply the climate-driven condensation—and outline the steps to fix it. Any company you consider should be transparent about their methodology and provide a detailed report with their findings. This is a common issue here, and a thorough inspection is the only way to ensure it is resolved properly and doesn't quickly return.
