AC mold removal cost in Dubai for apartment?« Back to Previous Page

The AC in my apartment seems to be blowing out a weird, damp odor and my toddler has been coughing more than usual. I finally pulled the vent cover off in our master bedroom and found what looks like a patch of black mold spreading on the inside of the duct. We've lived here for 2 years and just noticed this, but I'm worried it's been there a while. For a job like this in a high-rise in Dubai Marina, should I just call a professional cleaning company, and roughly how much am I looking at to get the AC unit and the ductwork properly cleaned and treated?

For a high-rise in Dubai Marina, a professional assessment is strongly recommended before any cleaning. The black substance needs proper identification; not all dark-colored microbial growth is the toxic 'black mold' (Stachybotrys), but any growth in the AC system requires attention due to the constant airflow throughout your living space.

The cost for proper remediation isn't fixed and depends heavily on the extent of contamination. A simple coil and fan cleaning is one price point, but if the mold has spread deep into the ductwork, the scope and cost increase significantly. In Dubai's climate, where AC runs year-round and high humidity promotes condensation inside units, contamination can be widespread. You must get a detailed inspection first to understand the full scope.

Avoid companies that offer a flat rate without an on-site inspection. A reputable provider will use a borescope to inspect the ducts, assess the entire system, and provide a scope of work and cost only after that. They should also be able to explain their containment procedures to prevent cross-contamination into your apartment during the cleaning process. Always request a post-remediation verification test to confirm the job was done correctly; this is a standard industry practice for serious cases. For an accurate quote, you'll need to request an assessment from a certified mold remediation specialist.
