Bathroom mold is common in Dubai due to high humidity and condensation from showers. Small, surface-level patches on silicone sealant or grout are often manageable with diligent DIY cleaning using a vinegar solution or a dedicated mold-removing product. The key is to address the moisture source—ensure your exhaust fan is working properly and run it for at least 30 minutes after a shower, and regularly wipe down wet surfaces.

Call a professional for an inspection if you notice any of the following: the mold covers a large area (more than one square meter), it has penetrated porous materials like drywall or the ceiling, it keeps returning quickly after you clean it, or you detect a persistent, musty odor. These are signs of a deeper moisture issue, possibly within the wall cavity or from a hidden leak, which requires professional diagnosis and remediation to prevent structural damage and potential health effects. In such cases, a certified inspector can identify the mold species and moisture source, which is critical for a permanent solution.
