We've lived here for 2 years and just noticed a bunch of black spots spreading along the corner where the wall meets the ceiling in our master bedroom. It’s right above the AC vent and the room has felt really humid lately, even with the AC on constantly. What’s the best way to handle this in Dubai – should I call my landlord first, or is there a specific cleaning company that deals with mold?

A general cleaning company will only wipe the visible mold away, which is ineffective and can disturb toxic spores. The underlying moisture problem will cause it to return quickly.

You need a specialist who can conduct a proper assessment, including using a moisture meter to find the water source and potentially air sampling to identify the mold type. In Dubai's climate, with high humidity and year-round AC use, this is a common issue that requires a science-based approach to resolve permanently.
