AC mold under carpet, who to call first in Dubai?« Back to Previous Page
|
The AC in my bedroom has been leaking a bit for a couple of weeks and I just pulled back the corner of the carpet near the wall. There's a patch of black, fuzzy mold about the size of a dinner plate underneath. We've lived in this villa in Al Barsha for 2 years and just noticed this. What's the best way to handle this safely and who should I call first, a cleaning company or an AC technician?

Based on your description, this is a serious issue that requires immediate and professional attention. The black, fuzzy growth under your carpet in Al Barsha is highly likely to be a significant mold colony, fueled by the constant moisture from the AC leak and exacerbated by Dubai's high humidity, which creates an ideal breeding ground.
Do not attempt to clean this yourself. Disturbing the mold by pulling back the carpet can release a high concentration of spores into your bedroom's air, posing a health risk. Your first call should absolutely be to a certified mold inspection and remediation company, not a general cleaner or AC technician. A professional environmental company, like ours at Saniservice, is equipped to safely contain the area, conduct precise air and surface sampling to identify the mold species and spore count, and execute a complete remediation protocol as per UAE standards. We will also identify the exact moisture source. Once the mold is safely contained and removed by experts, then an HVAC technician should be called to permanently repair the AC leak to prevent recurrence. This sequence is critical; fixing the AC first without addressing the existing mold colony will leave a major health hazard festering out of sight. For a proper assessment and safe removal, please contact our specialists. We serve villas across Dubai, including Al Barsha. Call us at 800-MOLDS (800-66537) or email hello@saniservice.com for an immediate consultation. |
