Should I immediately call a pro for AC mold?« Back to Previous Page

The AC in my apartment seems to be blowing a faint, damp smell into the master bedroom, and I just spotted a few small black speckles around the vent. We've lived in this Marina tower for 2 years and just noticed this a couple of weeks ago. With the humidity rising again, is this something I need to call a professional about immediately, or can it wait until next month?

Based on the symptoms you've described—a damp smell and visible black speckles around the AC vent in your Marina apartment—I would strongly advise against waiting. This is a classic indicator of microbial growth within the AC system, which is a serious health and property concern, especially with the rising humidity here in Dubai.

The damp, enclosed environment of an AC duct is an ideal breeding ground for mold. The spores being actively blown into your master bedroom can significantly impact indoor air quality, potentially causing allergic reactions, respiratory issues, and other health problems. Given the high humidity levels we are entering, the problem will only accelerate.

For a high-rise building in the Marina, this is not a DIY issue. Disturbing the growth improperly can cause a widespread release of spores throughout the apartment. A professional inspection is crucial. We use specialized tools like borescopes to inspect deep within the ductwork and air quality tests to identify the spore types and concentration levels, all in line with UAE health and environmental guidelines.

Don't risk your health. Have a certified professional assess it immediately to determine the extent of the contamination and the required remediation protocol. For a proper inspection and quote, please call our experts at 800-MOLDS or email hello@saniservice.com.
