Urgent AC rattling noise in heatwave, emergency repair needed?« Back to Previous Page

The AC in our main living area has started making a loud rattling noise that gets worse when it kicks into high cool. It's been doing this for about three days now and with the temperature hitting 45°C this week, we're really relying on it. I'm worried it might suddenly break down completely. Is this something that needs an emergency repair or can it wait a few days for a regular appointment?

Based on the symptoms you're describing—a loud rattling noise that intensifies under high cooling demand—this is a significant concern, especially during a 45°C heatwave. This is not a minor issue to ignore.

The rattling is most commonly caused by one of two serious mechanical failures: a failing compressor, which is the heart of your AC unit, or a loose or broken blower fan assembly. Both are under immense strain in our UAE climate and can lead to a complete system breakdown if they fail catastrophically. Continuing to run the unit in this state risks causing further, more expensive damage.

Given the extreme temperatures, this qualifies as a high-priority issue. A complete failure would not only cause significant discomfort but could also pose a health risk due to the intense heat. For a primary living area, I would strongly recommend treating this as an emergency repair to avoid being without cooling.

Do not attempt to diagnose or fix this yourself. AC systems involve high-pressure refrigerant lines and electrical components, and repairs must be handled by certified technicians as per UAE regulations.

Our team can perform a comprehensive diagnostic to pinpoint the exact cause of the noise and execute a safe, permanent repair. Please contact us immediately to schedule an emergency visit.
